ABOUT ME

I am a certified Health and Life Coach as well as a Personal Trainer. My career looked very different in the past.  I previously had an incredibly stressful career, and my habits were not always healthy. I worked in the mortgage and financial services industry for 20 years. I experienced advancement from an entry-level position to executive level responsibility, acquisitions, down-sizing, and plenty of challenges along with a rewarding career. It came with paying the price of my two daughters being the “first in and last out” at daycare. I missed some big events because I was traveling and putting in excessive hours at the office.

At the age of 40, I transitioned to overseeing the Sport Clips franchises that my husband and I owned. While I was handling the franchises full time, we grew it from three up to eight locations in Iowa and Colorado with over 50 employees. Then we became empty nesters and sold the franchises six months later. I went from horrifically busy to somewhat bored.

I worked part-time for a couple years at the non-profit Junior Achievement where kids learn job readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. I wasn’t content and felt like I had idle time on my hands. I earned my certification as a health and life coach and decided to leverage my experience to help others clarify their goals and take steps to reach them.

I had physical setback in retirement with a skiing accident including a torn ACL, MCL, meniscus, bone fracture, etc. but I vowed to myself to recover and rebound. While in the recovery phase and doing rehab on my knee, I became certified as a personal trainer. I came back and resumed coaching bootcamp training sessions at a local gym. You can ready the details on the "My Crash and U-Turn" page. I am grateful for the push outside my comfort zone and the connections I made with the clients.

I like to work hard, share my experience, then play harder.
